From Bright Generations to Bold Collaborations: The Future Starts NowLooking back on 'Bright Generations' — our unforgettable Artistic Gathering this March in Marseille — we are filled with gratitude and inspiration. Thank you for bringing your creativity, your courage, and your dreams to every meeting, every conversation, every performance. Marseille reminded us of something essential: face-to-face encounters are not just important — they are transformational. It is in those shared spaces that ideas spark, partnerships are born, and the future of our field begins to take shape. Now, as we step into the selection process for the new Regional Cooperation Program, we carry that same spirit of connection and possibility forward. The Regional Cooperation Program is a new ASSITEJ initiative designed to encourage collaboration between National Centres of ASSITEJ. It’s about building stronger regional theatre communities and making theatre more accessible and diverse. Cooperation this year and extending over three years. Launching this program marks a profound shift in the ASSITEJ calendar — creating space for deeper regional exchange, more sustained collaboration, and new opportunities for artists and organisations across the world to meet, create, and dream together. We are excited about what’s ahead — and we know the seeds planted at 'Bright Generations' will continue to grow, inspiring new projects, new friendships, and new ways of working together across borders and cultures. The future of ASSITEJ is being shaped right now by your passion, your imagination, and your commitment to young audiences everywhere. Let’s keep the spirit alive and keep building it together. With heartfelt thanks and excitement for the road ahead, Bebê de Soares Ler em português> |

Time has woven a year since Havana's streets, theatres and nights were filled with shared voices, gestures and dreams. We want to relive the happiness of having you all in Cuba, bringing together in the pages of our newsletter MATINÉ, the essence of what you lived, your photographs that caught moments of magic, your words that keep the echo of laughter, your reflections that sprouted after the trip, that idea that today grows in your works, the dialogue that transformed your look, the teachings of those days that now live in your art. | | Changes in the Hungarian Centre of ASSITEJ | | ASSITEJ Hungary At the end of February 2025, a new board was elected for the ASSITEJ Hungarian Centre. János Novák – ASSITEJ Lifetime Achievement Award winner – handed over his position as president to György Vidovszky (Vido), who has been representing Hungary in most of the Congresses and Artistic Gatherings since 2011. The renewed board would like to support the Hungarian TYA practitioners abroad with greater activity than before and to help Hungarian companies access the broadest possible range of information about international festivals and congresses. Due to the politically motivated change of leadership at the well-known Kolibri Theatre in Budapest, the headquarters of the ASSITEJ Hungarian Centre was moved to the Kabóca Puppet Theatre in Veszprém. The new board of the Hungarian Centre has already begun preparations for the 2026 Kaposvár Biennial, which has been hosting the best Hungarian and foreign performances for 25 years. There will be more news about applying to the festival soon. |

By Lalu Mokuku | | TEBOHO. TEBOHO. TEBOHO | | Teboho is a Sesotho word that can loosely be translated to mean gratitude. And so, I offer a gratitude tale: Once upon a recent yesterday, I found myself in a faraway land — Marseilles, France — graciously hosted by ASSITEJ France, welcomed into Theatre Massalia and many other warm, vibrant venues throughout the city. There, the days shimmered with long walks, food, laughter, collegiality, conversations, shows (and more shows!), friendships, and enriching exchanges.
